Viking Sunset Studios, Bali’s premier international film production hub, is proud to announce that its latest feature, Semusim (international title: A Season), has been officially selected to screen at the 8th Dili International Film Festival (DIFF) in Timor Leste, running September 30 to October 19, 2026. The selection was confirmed directly by festival organizers, placing this Bali produced drama romance in front of an international festival audience.
An International Debut for a Love
Story That Refuses to Stay Semusim follows Eric, a young Bali based heir used to a life of ease, until Sonya’s motorbike collides with his car on a coastal road. Sharp, unpredictable, and playing by her own rules, Sonya pulls Eric into a relationship that blurs every boundary he thought he understood. As their connection intensifies, Eric is forced to face a truth he has spent his life avoiding: nothing lasts forever, not wealth, not pleasure, not even love.
About the Dili International Film
Festival DIFF is an annual film festival held in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, Asia’s youngest nation. The 2026 edition marks the festival’s 8th year, running September 30 to October 19, 2026. DIFF was founded by Michael Smith of Screens Without Borders and Cinema Loro Sa’e, alongside Festival Director Lena Lenzen of Pixelasia Productions, and operates under the patronage of President José Ramos Horta, Nobel Prize laureate. Screenings take place across Dili venues including Beachside Cinema, Platinum Cineplex, and Fundação Oriente. Semusim screens in this year’s Feature Film Narrative program.

Director’s Statement
A Film by Bo H. Holmgreen developed Semusim with co writers Minggar and Rico Michael Bradley around a shared idea: when two people from very different worlds collide, there are no winners or losers, only change. The film was deliberately framed as a romance to draw audiences into close emotional proximity with Sonya and Eric, making their transformation feel personal rather than observed.
The Cast
Semusim stars Pangeran Lantang as Eric and Kania Atmaja as Sonya, with a supporting cast including Chicco Jerikho, Rizky Hanggono, Dennis Adhiswara, Sarah Tuff, Oliver Pras, Masayu Anastasia, and Julian Latief. Pangeran Lantang is a stage-trained actor known for his big screen roles; in Semusim he plays a man haunted by his past yet seeking new hope in love.
Kania Atmaja (Anak Agung Istri Kania Ratih Atmaja) is a former competitive swimmer and 2017 SEA Games bronze medalist who moved into acting, debuting in Siksa Kubur (2024); in Semusim she plays a woman searching for her true self.

Semusim is a 2026 feature film produced by Viking Sunset Studios Bali, written by Richo Darma with Minggar and Rico Michael Bradley, and directed by Richo Darma.
