On August 22, 2026, Viking Sunset Studios proudly attended the gala premiere of Peluru Senja: The Ghost and the Gun at GSC LaLaport BBCC, Kuala Lumpur, hosted by official distribution partner MSK Cinemas Sdn Bhd. The historical war drama, which VSS helped bring to life as a production partner, was celebrated with its cast, crew, and producers ahead of its nationwide release. Representing the studio were Bo H. Holmgreen, producer and CEO of Viking Sunset Studios, and Vivian (Title/Role to confirm), joining the celebration of a project years in the making.

A Story of Courage, Set in 1948 Malaya
Peluru Senja: The Ghost and the Gun is a historical war drama set in 1948 Malaya, in the turbulent years following the end of World War II. The film follows a Malay soldier and a British soldier left behind after the British military withdraws, forced to set aside old hostilities to defend a village from an armed insurgent threat. Directed by Singapore-based filmmaker Anshul Tiwari, the film stars Fabian Loo, Hazman Al-Idrus, Asmara Abigail, and Brett Tutor, with a screenplay by Abhi Kumar.
Bali as the Backdrop: Built From the Ground Up
What makes Peluru Senja particularly meaningful for VSS is where it was made. The film is one of the first war features shot entirely in Bali, with the production team building fourteen custom sets to recreate 1940s Malaya on Indonesian soil. As Bo H. Holmgreen shared, “Filming in Bali allowed us to craft a visually stunning backdrop with natural locations and we built fourteen sets to replicate 1940’s Malaysia. Accompanying this fabulous war movie back to its cultural and historical origins is very exciting.”
The production brought together cast and crew from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and the United States, a true international collaboration staged across Viking Sunset Studios’ facilities and Bali’s natural locations, from jungle terrain to open coastline.
An Evening to Remember at GSC LaLaport BBCC
Held at GSC LaLaport BBCC in Kuala Lumpur and hosted by official distribution partner MSK Cinemas Sdn Bhd, the gala premiere brought together the film’s international team of producers, including Debasmita Dasgupta, Tim Willrich, Mikail Chowdhury, and Bo H. Holmgreen, alongside executive producers Jessie White of Misfit Studios, Mohsen Ashraf of Friendly Felix Studios, and others who championed the project from script to screen. For the VSS team, the evening was a chance to see a project that began on our own soundstages and natural locations finally reach its audience.
